This character design series reinterprets the Eight Immortals of Taoist mythology as visually distinct figures, each centered around their legendary artifact—items believed to grant life, dispel evil, and reflect the Immortal’s unique essence. The project explores shape language, cultural symbolism, and costume design to modernize these iconic figures while preserving the mythic weight and spiritual depth of the original lore. It’s both a visual homage and a storytelling exercise in translating ancient legends into contemporary design.
